It all starts with a thin film of highly resistant PET, the same virtually unbreakable plastic used to manufacture soda bottles. This base-film is then coated, through a series of different processes, with the precise combination of high-quality materials needed to guarantee a certain solar control value. These materials can be simple pigments, which will create a shading effect such as in the case of Dyed Films, or they can be metallic or ceramic components of nano-metric width, which will last longer and perform better. The window film is then covered on the inner face with a strong adhesive to prevent bubbling, and on the outside face with an extra-hard anti-scratch coating to prevent damage over time.
